If you ever have the chance to visit NMS it's well worth the trip. Lynn and Mike
will take great care of you. A nice and well planned out telescope & bed retreat. I
stayed there 6 different times from 2 days to a full week. I normally rent the Tak

Ron Wodaski’s Place
During my visit to New Mexico Skies in June, 2004,I had the pleasure to spend some time with Ron Wodaski and attach a Canon DSLR to his scope; the first image from a DSLR on a 20" RC. You can see the results here: Image
Kitt Peak
Our Kitt Peak visit was excellent even though the weather was not the best. The first night we enjoyed the Nightly Observing Program – it was clear all night. We received an introduction to the night sky and although I knew most of the objects they talked about, it was a nice time and my wife learned quite a bit. I even saw M33 with binoculars! We also had a chance to look through the 20" RC which produced some spectacular viewing.
The next 2 nights I did The Advanced Observing Program. I had originally planned on imaging with the 10D on the 20” RC and guiding with the Tak 106 and STV but the balance was too hard to obtain. Bummer. So, instead we used the 10XME camera. Adam Block and I were up all night trying to image through the “sucker holes,” as they called them. The first night was a wash with only one single frame of exposure. The second night was a bit better although we were imaging through the smoke from the fires in California and had high winds of 40+mph – we were the only dome open and imaging. This is the only image that was completed from this night.
The Doc. G designed Roll-
I have started to use this company for imaging when I get the urge or the weather doesn’t cooperate for too long and I can’t take it. I need to image! This is a great set up and very easy to use. You can see some images taken from this location in the recent images gallery.

The Old DGRO “Doc Greiner Research Observatory”
This is our group’s fully remote observatory in Wisconsin. You can see more information by going to the DGRO website. This facility houses 2 Paramounts with a 14.5” RCOS and 16” Meade RCX. This facility is up and running on every clear night here in Wisconsin (as few as that may be).
